New Orleans Jazz

New Orleans is probably the most significant town in all history of jazz music. New Orleans is the town which deserves to be named as birthplace of jazz music. The greatest names of jazz history refer to New Orleans: Louis Armstrong, Kenny Bell and Dukes of Dixieland. One of the songs written by Spencer Williams and performed by Louis Armstrong – Basin Street Blues – is the song about red light district in New Orleans. The song was written in 1926 but it became popular only in 1928 after genius performance by Louis Armstrong. So the song of today would be “Basin Street Blues”:
